Welcome to Kimpact.org:

Your friendly neighborhood source for eco-friendly living in the concrete jungle for nature nuts like me, making a living in the city but still tied to Mother Nature's apron strings. This site can't cover everything so the goal to publish content that has either been researched or personally reviewed by myself, family, friends and co-workers. Nothing like a little peer pressure to get you started.

Latest Product Review:

Collective Wellbeing Bodywash: These folks feed a portion of their proceeds to a pool of funds, and twice a year that money is then given to nominated non profit companies. I have already used this bodywash, just haven't taken photos (there will be absolutely none of myself thank you). Have you ever seen Laurel & Hardy's Tar Babies? Well, that was the one surprise: a star ingreadient is activated charcoal, and it sure looks it, the soap is totally black! But foams up well, rinses quite cleanly, and no girly after smell. Lasts quite a while as well.

Other Product Reviews:

G Diapers: How messy are you willing to get for conservation? These diapers are marketed as ending the debate between disposeable and cloth diapers. They certainly are adorable looking, but apparently not as fun and easy as the video showed. Click here to read more- but warning, included are some very dirty photos!
Stop plastic bags from taking over the world!! This cloth shopping bag is pretty sharp looking in black, roomy and sturdy. Warning to family and close friends, guess what will be your stocking this Christmas? Read more, and view how much this sucker holds. And more importantly - git yerself one too!

Green Media Reviews:

Newsweek July 17th issue: The New Greening of America - From Politics to Lifestyle, Why Saving the Environment is Suddenly Hot. Well, the cover is creepy with its yuppie sanitary blond family image, but there are some good articles inside. I think you can still order this issue online, but their site is ick, too busy, and you have to pay or subscribe to read the full article, argh. Well, one of the hiughlights is Manhattan's own Hearst building, the ultimate in Green Biz Buildings. My friend Jen works there so I am going to visit next week, I'll write a review and take pics so you can at least share in that.

An Inconvenient Truth: a documentary on global warming by Al Gore. I was worried it would be too depressing, or too political, but it was neither, I even laughed at some parts while others I wanted to cry. Paramount Classics announced that it will donate 5% of ticket sales to the Alliance for Climate Protection so even more reason to see it. I would write a review, but doesn't need hype, just see it!!

BIZARRE BEASTS

Ok, building this in my spare time so this site will develop slower than a sloth. But at least my organs aren't permanently inverted like a sloth. But then again I do not live upside down like a sloth. Sometimes I feel I do...

A BEVY OF BEASTS

As you all know, I am a nut for animals, so be sure to check out the other pages, not just to experience more of my poetic prose and imagery, but also for the fun factoids like the one above. There is usually more than one on each page, related to the content of course, and added weekly, should I get my rear in gear. Got cool critter facts to add? Share now!
